Students completed online applications which were reviewed anonymously by the Scholarship Committee and awarded based not only on students’ scholastic accomplishments, but on work experience, activities and students’ goals and aspirations. Scholarships were awarded to Kayla Bain, William Blanding, Rebecca Brant, Allie Cerio, Morgan Cotter, Zane Cowburn, Katherine Culkin, Ariana Emad, Jonathan Karbowniczak, Holden Lalor, Callie Lalor, Kalila Lehner, Nicole Pellman, Noah Sauve, Hannah Turner, Brooke Van Gorden, Samantha Wendt and Nicole Zimmer.

The Chittenango-Bridgeport Dollars for Scholars Committee is made up of volunteers who work throughout the year to raise money to award to students.  The community truly is the driving force behind this amazing opportunity, with donations coming from community members and businesses throughout the area.

“Dollars for Scholars exists due to the generous support we have received from community members, local businesses, the Board of Education and school faculty, staff and administration,” said Amy Bailey, Dollars for Scholars President. “Truly, these scholarships represent this community’s commitment to helping students achieve success in college and career.”

The only way the committee can continue to offer scholarships is with your help. If you would like to assist the committee in getting a head start on scholarships for the Class of 2017, send your donations to Chittenango-Bridgeport Dollars for Scholars, P.O. Box 303, Chittenango, N.Y. 13037-0303. Your support is so important to the future of our young people.
