13773478To celebrate our ten years of early childhood education and community involvement the GSCC is throwing a Summer Soirée (a community event).
Location: 2631 Genesee St., Utica
Date: Wednesday, Aug. 31
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
This event will host our local community and its youth on the grounds of our facility, a renovated historic mansion in South Utica. The Children’s Center serves over 100 children from the Greater Utica area ranging from all socio-economic statuses and creeds. Throughout our ten years of operation the children’s center has served hundreds of children in our area, preparing them for the road ahead.
Since 2006, The Genesee Street Children’s Center has been dedicated to the enrichment of the young minds within our community. At Genesee Street we are committed to providing the highest quality early childhood education. Genesee Street is childcare with a difference- a carefully chosen educational setting combined with meticulously structured academic instruction. Our individualized curriculum databases insure every child is engaged in developmentally age appropriate activities throughout the day. We offer a preschool preparatory program utilizing Montessori teaching strategies in many areas of study focusing on: mathematics, ELA, science, nature, practical life, geography, nutrition, dramatic play, music, and the arts. More importantly we focus on creating social and productive students who are learning their place in our world, teaching to every domain of development. As well as a full ASL (American Sign Language) curriculum. At our center art practices are an everyday form of expression! Many activities reveal artists of the past, inspiring children to create from a wealth of visual and historical influences. Art and culture help children understand their place  in the world, just as nature does. Walks, outdoor play, explore themselves and create meaning within their world.

It is easy to understand why a lifetime of success begins with the GSCC.
