State Police are investigating a fatal one-car crash that occurred Thursday, September 8, 2016 on Interstate 81 in the town of Tully.
The investigation has revealed that at approximately 11pm, a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was traveling south bound on Interstate 81 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, exited the highway at Exit 14 off-ramp and continued down an embankment and struck a tree.
There were two occupants in the vehicle, the driver, identified as Scott F. White, age 49, from 160 Main Street in Cortland, and his passenger 55 year-old, Ricky G. Roberts from Cortland.
White was transported to Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse with internal injuries including multiple fractures. He was listed in stable condition. Mr. Roberts was transported to Upstate University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased after going into traumatic arrest and suffering severe internal bleeding.
The investigation continues.
