pizarro-luisState Police arrested Luis Pizarro, 20, from 16 Costello Court in Syracuse, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a class “A” misdemeanor; Resisting Arrest, a class “A” misdemeanor; and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree, a class “B” misdemeanor.

On Thursday, September 8, 2016, at approximately 11 pm, Pizarro was observed by patrols smoking marijuana along Niagara Street in the City of Syracuse. When Troopers stopped to talk with Pizarro he fled on foot.

The foot pursuit ended on Slocum Avenue when Pizarro fell onto the pavement.  He was subsequently taken into custody without further incident. Pizarro was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was treated by medical personnel and released.

Pizarro was found to be in possession of 18 bags of heroin and was wanted by the City of Syracuse Police for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office for violation of probation.

Pizarro was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center until arraignment in City of Syracuse Court.
