More than 200 new freshman, transfer and international students have been awarded merit scholarships to attend SUNY Oneonta beginning in the fall 2016 semester, which started Monday, Aug. 29. The award amounts range from $1,000 to full in-state tuition scholarships of $6,470 per year.
The following area students received scholarships:
Constance Finnerty of Oneida, received a $6,470 Presidential Scholarship. Finnerty, a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, plans to major in Biology.
Francesca Miesner of Syracuse, received a $4,000 Catskill Scholarship. Miesner, a graduate of Westhill High School, plans to major in Music.
