The Boy Scouts of America Leatherstocking Council is once again collecting food for families in need in their annual “Scouting for Food” program. Last year, the Council’s Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts collected over 30,000 items of food to benefit our local families in need.
On Saturday November 6, local Scouts will be leaving donation requests at the doors of homes throughout the Council’s six-county area: Delaware, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Otsego and Schoharie counties. Residents are asked to kindly place items of non-perishable food in plastic bags and place them outside the door on the following Saturday, the 13th. This food will be collected by the Scouts and then redistributed to local food banks.
If Scouts cannot make it to your home and you wish to contribute food items to this worthy cause, please feel free to drop the items off at either of our two Council offices below and we will deliver them to the charity for you.
