The Holy Cross Academy Crusaders co-ed soccer team vanquished Faith Fellowship Christian School for the North Country Athletic Conference championship on Thursday night in Watertown.
Playing hard right up through double overtime, HCA’s Garrett Johnson made the winning goal leading to the 3-2 final score. Nancy Mazor and Joe Judge made the other two goals.
“We went into the game knowing we faced a Goliath of an opponent,” said HCA’s soccer coach Ian Domes. “We kept our eyes up, our heads up and our hearts up. We united as a solid front both defensively and offensively. Against many sub-par calls not in our favor, we triumphed. Thank you all!”
