unnamed-2John and Cathy Cadley are one of the area’s most entertaining and popular duos. Following in the tradition of great male-female duets like Ian & Sylvia and Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons, they show how the simplicity of two voices and two acoustic instruments can produce powerful music.

Their repertoire draws on the traditional bluegrass of Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers, the tight harmonies of the Louvin Brothers, the “new acoustic” sounds of Alison Krauss and Claire Lynch, and John’s own originals, which have been recorded by national bluegrass artists such as Tony Trischka, Jim Hurst, Missy Raines, and Lou Reid, who, with Vince Gill and Ricky Skaggs singing harmony, took John’s song, “Time,” to the #1 spot on the national bluegrass charts for three consecutive months. Cathy’s resume is equally impressive, including 23 years leading a church and gospel group in her hometown of Fayetteville, NY.

Dan Duggan and Peggy Lynn are celebrating ten years of marriage and fifteen years of performing together. With a newly released album titled Esperance, named for their farm in Red Creek, NY, they showcase a few of their favorite genres: distinctive original songs, acoustic jazz standards, and instrumentals, both poignant and driving.

Dan Duggan is known nationally for his wizardry on hammered dulcimer and flat-picking guitar, and is the recipient of the National Hammered Dulcimer Championship. He is a true multi-instrumentalist, equally at home on guitar, slide guitar, piano, banjo and his signature hammered dulcimer. Peggy Lynn is recognized for her soulful songwriting and extraordinary vocal versatility. Peggy’s work is grounded in traditional instrumental and vocal styles, but exhibiting a critical and philosophical perspective.
