State Police in Herkimer are investigating a two-car fatal crash that occurred December 13, 2016 on Higby Road in the Town of Frankfort, Herkimer County.
Investigation has revealed, at approximately 12:05 a.m., a 2006 Ford Focus operated by 19-year-old, Parker D. Goldsmith, from Wilson Road in Frankfort, was traveling west on Higby Road when he crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck a 2011 Jeep head-on.
Goldsmith was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica with a fractured leg.
The driver of the Jeep, Laura M. Brooks, 61, of West Winfield, was transported by helicopter to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and was listed in serious condition. A front seat passenger in Brook’s vehicle, Kathleen A. Shipman, 65, of West Winfield, was transported via helicopter to SUNY Upstate Medical University with a leg fracture.
Wendy M. Brooks, 36, of Ilion, a rear-seat passenger, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, with internal injuries and was listed in serious condition. Christine M. Brooks, 42, of Mason Road, Mohawk, was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica where she was pronounced deceased.
The investigation continues.
