Cryptozoology is known as the study of hidden or unknown animals. Bigfoot, Nessie, and the Chupacabra are the most well-known cryptids, but there are many more! Some cryptids can be later identified, but others are difficult to discern due to insufficient evidence.
At 11:30 am on April Fools’ Day, Friends of Rogers will host Syracuse Area Paranormal for an informative presentation about this unique organization – and perhaps the possibility of unknown cryptids yet to be identified in nearby habitats.
“It’s fun to imagine that our local wildlife may include as-yet unidentified creatures,” said Simon Solomon, executive director. “Time spent exploring outdoors is always beneficial, whether you discover ‘Bigfoot’ or you become reacquainted with a more familiar species.”
This program will be held at the Visitor Center on State Route 80 in Sherburne; those needing to may use the adjacent parking lot, and the Center is accessible.
Pre-registration is required by noon on March 31 at $2 for members or $3 for not-yet- members; call (607) 674-4733 or email env.educator@FriendsofRogers.org for more details. Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for all ages.
