Utica Zoo’s annual Eggstravaganza event is Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Utica Zoo featuring the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt throughout the zoo.
Visitors can also participate in an educational quest to find and learn about the animals at the zoo that lay eggs. Are you feeling competitive? The zoo will have egg-and- spoon races and bunny hop races.
Utica Zoo animals will receive egg-themed enrichment (toys and/or snacks), and a full enrichment schedule will be provided the day of the event.
Show off your artsy side at the coloring book station. Get up close and personal with some of the Utica Zoo’s furry friends during the animal meet & greets. So Sweet Candy Café will be selling your favorite Easter chocolates and sweets.
What to Bring: Bring your own basket for the Easter Egg Hunt (recommended for ages 12 and under), a camera or cell phone for taking photos with the Easter Bunny, and hard-boiled eggs to dye at the eco-friendly dye station.
Holy Smoque’s BBQ Food Truck Menu: Choice of meats are pulled pork, chicken, or Applewood smoked ham. Mac and cheese with choice of meat. BBQ Bowls: salt potatoes, skillet corn, choice of meat, BBQ sauce and sour cream. Loaded BBQ Chips: fresh kettle chips loaded with cheese sauce, choice of meat, BBQ sauce and sour cream. Pulled Pork Sandwich. Pulled Chicken Sandwich. Mac and Cheese. Special Item: Grilled Mac and Cheese Ham Sandwich.
Parking: Utica Zoo parking lots. Additional parking at the Parkway Rec Center with free shuttle buses to and from the zoo until 4 p.m.
Utica Zoo members: Free admission, plus $2 per person for the optional egg hunt.
Not-yet members Admission: Adults $8.00, Children $4.75, Senior/College/Military discount $6.75, Children 2 and under are free. Egg Hunt Price: $3 per person for not-yet members.
