On April 1, 2017, at approximately 12:50 p.m., State Police in Lee responded to Florence Hill Road in the town of Florence for a one-car fatal motor vehicle accident.
Investigation revealed a 2002 Saturn SL, operated by Cody R. Rocker, 26, of Florence, was southbound on Florence Hill Road when he failed to negotiate a curve. Rocker’s vehicle traveled off the eastside shoulder of the roadway, colliding with a mailbox. The vehicle then continued traveling southbound striking a culvert, becoming airborne and striking a tree.

Rocker was pronounced deceased at the scene.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, Florence Fire Department and Camden Ambulance.
