State Police in North Syracuse arrested Michele L. Daly, 46, of Whitesboro, on three counts of aggravated DWI-drugs and 14 counts of endangering the welfare of a child and a traffic violation.
On Saturday, April 29, 2017, a Whitesboro Central School Bus that was traveling northbound on Route 481 when it was stopped by police officers from the DeWitt Police Department and state troopers after the 911 center received several calls from students on the bus that the bus driver was driving erratically. Interviews of the bus driver, students and coaches on the bus were conducted, and it was determined that the driver was operating the school bus impaired by prescription medication. The 25 students (ages 14 to 18) and two coaches on the bus were headed to Fulton High School for a lacrosse game.
Daly was arraigned in East Syracuse Village Court and released to family until the next court appearance, which is scheduled for May 5, 2017, at 5 p.m.
