For a second time in as many years, Morrisville State College has claimed the North Eastern Athletic Conference Senior Woman Administrators’ Cup, as announced by the Conference Office Monday afternoon.

The Senior Woman Administrators’ Cup is determined from the community service activities of each full-member institution during the 2016-17 year. Each institution receives a ranking in three categories: total dollars raised, total number of participants and total number of volunteer hours.

Morrisville State earned the first overall ranking, as voted by the conference’s senior woman administrators’, with 10 overall points.

“I want to thank our entire staff and all of our student-athletes for participating in the countless activities we organized this past year,” said Director of Athletics, Greg Carroll.

“From leaf raking to collecting school supplies, reading at local elementary schools to partnering with the character education program at Morrisville-Eaton, our student-athletes and staff were all in.”

“This past year we took an applied learning approach to our service initiatives, and I think our students learned a great deal about the various groups we partnered with, and developed a deeper appreciation of the importance of the services they provided.”

Morrisville State raised more than $7,700 for charitable organizations, while contributing 1,692 hours of service and 589 total participants across more than 40 initiatives on the year.

“I am tremendously pleased by Morrisville State’s placing in the SWA Cup standings,” Carroll continued. “I am equally thrilled about what this entire initiative has done for our conference and the communities in which our conference members reside.”

“It speaks volumes about the commitment of the NEAC, and Morrisville State, to the Division III philosophy.”
