Two artists will grace the New Woodstock Free Library through the holiday season, Nov. 6 to Dec. 29. The artists, Susan Johnson and Wayne Daniels, take inspiration from the natural beauty of rural Cazenovia and vicinity.

Johnson says “Living in beautiful Central New York there is always outdoor beauty to inspire my work.  Cazenovia Lake, local architecture, our village streets, boats, farm fields and scenic vistas all provide subject matter for my oil canvases.”

Daniels describes himself as a ‘contemporary realist painter with influences from 17th-century Dutch painting and American realist painting.’

“My paintings are built up of many translucent glazes to maximize depth and luminosity,” he said.

A reception for the artists will be held on Friday, Nov. 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the library, 2106 Main Street, New Woodstock. The exhibit will be open to the public during all regular library hours.

The library is open Monday through Friday 1 to 5 p.m.Monday and Wednesday evenings 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 until 1. The library is also open whenever the blue library symbol flag is flying out front.
