Description: In this theatrical adaptation of the classic 1946 Frank Capra film of the same name, this play recounts the life of George Bailey, an average guy from an average small town in Western New York. George has recently run into trouble with the law in a big way, after a series of missteps on the part of his foolish Uncle Billy, who runs a community building and loan with him. It takes the prayers of his friends and family, a reflection on his life, and the help of an angel-in-training to stop George from making a tragic choice, and getting him to realize it really is a “wonderful life.”

Written by Peter Van Doren Stern, adapted by James W. Rodgers.

Starring Chittenango High School Drama Club and directed by Chittenango High School staff.
