On Nov. 2, 2017, the Oneida City Police received a report that an 11-week-old infant had been brought to the Rome Memorial Hospital and was then transferred to SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse with numerous injuries.
The subsequent investigation found that the child had a fractured arm and a fractured skull, as well as other injuries.
Following a joint investigation by the Oneida City Police Department and Madison County Child Protective Services, the Oneida City Police charged Ashlee Sanchez, 24, of Stone Street, with two counts of second-degree assault (class D felonies), second-degree reckless endangerment (class A misdemeanor) and endangering the welfare of a child (class A misdemeanor).
She was arraigned in Oneida City Court Dec. 13 and remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond.
On Dec. 19, Tracy Sanchez-Clark, 43, and Jonathan Clark, 44, both of Stone Street, were charged with endangering the welfare of a child (class A misdemeanors), for their roles in this incident, as well. They were issued appearance tickets.
All defendants are scheduled to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.
Police Chief Paul Thompson said the infant is doing well and expected to make a full recovery.
