Colgate men’s soccer associate head coach Mark Plotkin has been named the head coach at the Big East’s DePaul, the Blue Demons announced Thursday.

Plotkin is a 2010 DePaul graduate and will return to his alma mater after a successful four-year stint with the Raiders. Plotkin played a large role in leading Colgate to new heights during his time in Hamilton. He helped guide the Raiders to three-straight 10-plus win seasons for the first time in program history, two Patriot League Tournament Championships, one regular-season championship and a 2017 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance.

Plotkin spent three years as Colgate’s top assistant coach beginning in 2014 before being elevated to associate head coach prior to the 2017 season. The Colgate coaching staff was named the Northeast Region Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches Association following Colgate’s historic 2017 campaign in which the Raiders won their second-straight Patriot League Championship and advanced to the program’s first-ever Sweet 16.

“I am very happy for and proud of Coach Plotkin,” said Colgate head coach Erik Ronning. “His great contributions to Colgate soccer over the past four seasons have helped raise the program’s standard for excellence. I am confident he will do a tremendous job at DePaul and wish him the best of luck.”
