First-Year Led Colgate to Largest Margin of Victory in 71 Years
Colgate men’s basketball first-year guard Jack Ferguson has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after guiding the Raiders to their largest margin of victory in 71 years, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Ferguson tallied 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in 15 minutes of action in the Raiders’ 103-52 win over Pitt-Bradford Friday. The Fort Wayne, Ind. native’s 19 points came from a 6-for-9 showing from the field, while his four rebounds, four assists and three steals were all career bests. For the season, Ferguson is averaging 8.1 points per game.
The 51-point win over Pitt-Bradford marked Colgate’s largest margin of victory since the 1946-47 season. The Raiders’ 103 points were the most in a single game in 20 years, while the Raiders improved to 5-0 at home for the first time in 17 years.
