Loving Vincent to be shown at the Cazenovia Public Library

The Cazenovia Public Library will present a special screening of Loving Vincent (2017) on Friday, February 2 at 7:00 pm in the Community Room. The groundbreaking work is the first fully painted animated feature film. Each of the film’s 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, created by a team of 125 painters. Loving Vincent received a 2018 Golden Globe nomination and was awarded Best Animated Feature Film Award at the 30th European Film Awards in Berlin.

Shortly after Vincent van Gogh’s tragic death, a young man named Armand travels to the painter’s hometown to deliver his final letter. Armand meets several townspeople who not only knew van Gogh, but also served as models and inspirations for his art. As suspicious details of van Gogh’s death come to light, Armand becomes obsessed with uncovering the psyche and fate of the legendary artist.

The film is rated PG-13 and runs 94 minutes. Free popcorn provided. This event is made possible by the Friends of the Cazenovia Public Library. All events at the Library are free and open to the public. For more information, call (315) 655-9322 or visit www.cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.
