State Police announce the arrest of Samantha M. Murphy, 38, of DeRuyter, for five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Murphy is charged with engaging in sexually explicit and graphic conversations with several students while acting as a substitute teacher for a broadcast media class at the DeRuyter High School Monday, Jan. 22, 2018.
Murphy was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in DeRuyter Town Court Monday, Feb. 5. School officials contacted state police immediately after being notified by students of the incident and have been fully cooperative with the investigation.
