Haley O’Brien of Cazenovia Attends Women in STEM Conference

St. Lawrence University anthropology student Haley S. O’Brien attended the Public Leadership Education Network’s Women in STEM Policy Seminar in Washington, D.C., which took place Jan. 2 to Jan. 6, 2018.

Haley, a member of the Class of 2018 who graduated from Cazenovia Junior-Senior High School, was one of four St. Lawrence women to attended the seminar, which offered college women a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand from women in science, health, and technology who are shaping the nation’s STEM agenda. Students connected with senior women in the public, nonprofit and private sectors.

Senior Vina Smith-Ramakrishnan ’18 of Whitesboro, won the MVP award for the mock testimony she delivered during a Congressional hearing simulation. She represented the Environmental Protection Agency.
