Juvenile Arrested for threats upon Otto Shortell Middle School
UPDATED 02/28/18 7:28 p.m.: On Feb. 28, 2018, Madison County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested an Otto Shortell Middle School student and charged that juvenile with making a terroristic threat (class D felony).
Students at the school reported that a fellow student made a threat to cause harm to the other students. Deputies and investigators from Madison County responded to secure the school from any imminent threats. The juvenile was located at the school and arrested by investigators.
Madison County Sheriff’s K-9 and NYSP K-9 handlers searched the school to assure no threats existed. Investigators from the Oneida Police Department also responded and assisted with the investigation.
No students were injured or in danger at any time.
