Tenney announces 2018 Congressional Art Competition

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) announced the 2018 Congressional Art Competition. The Congressional Art Competition is open to students in 11th and 12th grades in the 22nd Congressional District.

Beginning in 1982, the Congressional Art Competition is held every spring to showcase talented art students across the nation. Each member of Congress receives submissions from students throughout their district. Submissions will be judged by a panel in the district, and the winning piece will be prominently displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

“It is an honor to once again host the 2018 Congressional Art Competition to recognize our talented students in the 22nd District,”  said Tenney. “I encourage all students to participate in this competition and I look forward to seeing the wonderful pieces from our district.”

Last year, Claire Nolan’s piece “Fire in Three Realms” was selected from 85 submitted pieces as the winner. Claire Nolan was a senior at Greene Central High School and now attends Syracuse University.
