County, state officials pleased host community annual payment included in adopted budget
The adopted state 2019 budget once again included $2.25 million in shared host community gaming revenue for gaming devices located in Madison County at the Oneida Indian Nation’s Yellow Brick Road Casino.
“I am very thankful to Governor [Andrew] Cuomo for working diligently to ensure this revenue was again included in the adopted budget,” said Chairman John M. Becker. “Its inclusion for the second year in a row will go a long way to ensure it will be included permanently. I would also like to thank Sen. David Valesky for his leadership in supporting our host community revenue during budget negotiations and Assemblyman William Magee for his continued support, as well. I look forward to working with Governor Cuomo, Senator Valesky and Assemblyman Magee in developing a similar arrangement for the new Point Place Casino in the town of Sullivan.”
“I am pleased that this year’s state budget includes $2.25 million to provide an equitable distribution of revenue to the County as a host community to casino gaming,” said Sen. David J. Valesky (D-Oneida).
“This measure will help ensure Madison County gets its fair share of revenue to offset the municipal costs of casino expansion and provide much-needed support for vital community services,” said Assemblyman Bill Magee (D-Nelson).
