Merry-Go-Round Theatre performs ‘Bremen Town Musicians’ July 13 at OPL
The Friends of the Oneida Public Library present at the library, 220 Broad Street, a free performance by the Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre of a new comic play with music, The Bremen Town Musicians,” based on the Grimm Brothers’ folktale of the same name, Friday, July 13, at 3 p.m.
“The Bremen Town Musicians,” written for the stage by Lisa Chase and Erin Katzker, follows four aging and neglected farm animals (a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster) as they take to the road to Bremen to become musicians. Along the way, they join forces to face a whirl of misadventures and learn that teamwork and a dash of music can save the day.
The Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre is a fully professional company of actors that performs and teaches throughout Upstate New York. It reportedly reaches throughout the academic year more than 100,000 students across the state through its multi-disciplined Sequential Dramatics program. During the summer, it performs staged shows based on classic fairy tales and legends at public libraries, churches, parks and schools.
