Madison County celebrates World Breastfeeding Week Aug. 1 through 7

The Madison County Healthy Start Partnership is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week Aug. 1 through 7, with a special event Friday, Aug. 3 from noon to 3 p.m. at Breastfeeding Connections Café at Oneida Healthcare’s baby weigh station located at 607 Seneca Ave., Oneida.

New or expectant moms and their young children and guests are invited to attend. There will be lunch, hand and shoulder massages, a photograph booth and giveaways. Moms can talk with other moms, staff from community organizations and have their babies weighed.

Breastfeeding Connections is a baby weigh station open Mondays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m. The Café is held on the first and third Fridays of the month and includes a light lunch and a space for moms to connect with other moms. Enjoy a comfortable space to get professional breastfeeding support, check baby’s weight and connect to community resources such as WIC.

Call 315-361-2065 to make an appointment. No appointment is necessary for the Café; simply drop by to talk with other moms or get your questions answered by certified lactation counselors.
