Oneida man facing drug, weapon charges
On Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, Madison County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators arrested 28-year-old John C. Barlow of St. Joseph’s Place, Oneida. Police say Barlow is charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (class B felony), fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class C felony), fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (class D felony), seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class A misdemeanor), fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (class A misdemeanor) and resisting arrest (class A misdemeanor).
It is alleged that Barlow sold a bag containing 2 grams of bath salts to another person. When investigators attempted to arrest Barlow, he ran from the scene, threw a knife at the ground and then physically resisted being arrested.
Barlow was arraigned in Oneida City Court and remanded to Madison County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond; he will return to answer these charges on a future date.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in its investigation by Oneida Police Department personnel.
