Elbridge head-on crash sends seven patients to Syracuse hospital

State police are investigating a head-on crash that occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30, 2018, on State Route 321 in the town of Elbridge.

Investigation revealed a 2018 Chevrolet Cruz operated by Jerry L. Sankey, 74, of Auburn, was westbound on Route 321 when he crossed over into the eastbound lane, striking a 2015 Chevrolet Impala head-on.

The operator of the Impala, Jonathan W. Gosson, 44, of Camillus, was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse with non-life threatening injuries.

Four passengers inside the Impala, including a 44-year-old female, 19-year-old male, 14-year-old male and a 13-year-old female were all transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University with non-life threatening injuries.
A passenger in the Cruz, Katherine Sankey, 73, was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.
