Salka endorsed by Teamsters Local 294

Republican John Salka has earned the endorsement of the Teamsters Local 294. The group represents men and women in organized labor throughout the 121st Assembly District and all of New York state. The 121st District encompasses all of Madison County and portions of Oneida and Otsego counties.

“I’m honored to have earned support from voters from all backgrounds who are ready for a change in how New York state operates,” Salka said. “I’m ready to shake things up in Albany to get state government re-focused on the hardworking men and women who make our economy tick.”

As the first member of his family to attend college, Salka is a licensed medical professional and previously managed his own business, where he learned the challenges of doing business in New York state.

Also currently serving as supervisor of the town of Brookfield, Salka has made fixing New York’s economy a top priority during his campaign.

Salka previously served as a non-partisan school board member for Brookfield Central Schools, including four years as board president. He was elected town supervisor in 2007 by defeating an 18-year incumbent.

He resides in Brookfield with his wife, Erin. The couple raised two children. Their daughter Emily passed away in 2015 following a battle with brain cancer.

Salka is running on the Republican, Conservative and Reform lines against 28-year incumbent Democrat Bill Magee.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.
