Miller receives endorsement of United Mine Workers of America
Remington Arms workers back Miller
Today, Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I-New Hartford) announced that his campaign has been endorsed by the United Mine Workers of America Pennsylvania/New York for his consistent support of Remington Arms and the jobs its creates in the local community.
“I am honored to have the support of the United Mine Workers of America and all the Remington Arms workers they represent,” said Miller. “Remington Arms represents hundreds of jobs in our community– jobs that we need to keep our families working. The hardworking men and women of this region deserve a representative who will listen to their concerns and fight to keep their jobs right here at home. It has been a privilege to serve as that representative and I look forward to continuing that effort in the future.”
The membership of the United Mine Workers of America includes mine workers, manufacturing workers, clean coal technicians, health care workers, corrections officers and public employees throughout the U.S. Locally, the UMWA has worked to ensure job security, a safe work environment, fair wages, benefits and more for workers at Remington Arms. In doing so, productivity of the workers and profitability of the business has increased over the years.
Assemblyman Miller represents the 101st District consisting of parts of Delaware, Herkimer, Oneida, Orange, Otsego, Sullivan and Ulster counties.
