Oneida Pop Warner advances to regional competition

Oneida Pop Warner Cheerleaders have something really special they’re cheering about … several of their squads have advanced to regional competition. This honor is a huge achievement for the girls, coaches, and program, which last year had one advancing team, now a total of four this year.
“We’re just so proud of their hard work,” Jessica Watson, Oneida Pop Warner Cheer coordinator, said. “To get to regionals, first each of the teams had to place through the recent local Tri Valley competition in Utica, and they did amazing.”
All of the teams received special recognition for their performance at Tri Valley.  Even the youngest flag cheerleaders, who can’t yet go on to compete at regionals, did a spectacular job.The girls from Mitey Mites, Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, and Junior Varsity teams will go on to compete in early November in the Eastern Region Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Championships in Trenton, New Jersey.
“In order to make this dream of attending regionals this year a reality for our girls, we know raising funds will be necessary.” Watson shared.  “We are holding a spaghetti dinner this weekend to help raise the funds for participation to help offset the costs.  We appreciate any and all community support as our teams represent our hometown!”
The Oneida Pop Warner spaghetti dinner is Sunday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Owl’s Club in Oneida, 130 Vanderbilt Ave.; the community is invited to attend the fundraiser to support the teams. Tickets for the spaghetti dinner will be available at the door and for advance sale with Pop Warner parents. Oneida Pop Warner is also seeking sponsorships from local businesses. For more information, contact Watson at 315.404.2809.
In addition to the dinner, a Go Fund Me page for Oneida Pop Warner Cheerleading competition expenses has been set up at Any and all donations are appreciated and welcome to support the teams. To learn more about Oneida Pop Warner, like and follow the Facebook page at
