Utica man charged with possession of 1.2 pounds of marijuana after traffic stop

On Oct. 23, 2018, at approximately 10 p.m., state police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the village of South Nyack for several vehicle and traffic violations. During the interview of the driver for the traffic violations, probable cause was established to search the vehicle and its occupants.

Driver Tyquan J. Singleton, 31, of Utica, was found to be in possession of approximately 1.2 pounds of marijuana. Singleton was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, were he was subsequently charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class D felony, and vehicle and traffic violations.

Singleton is awaiting arraignment in South Nyack Village Court. No bail or return court date information available at this time.
