This winter, the Cazenovia Public Library will present the “Cozy Café” – a weekly celebration of hygge. A key aspect of Danish culture, hygge (pronounced “hue-guh”) is a concept characterized by a state of coziness, comfort and contentment.
The Cozy Café is presented as part of the “Warming Up to Winter” program series and will be held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the library’s original building. The casual sessions will feature hot beverages, Danish cookies, guided crafts, activities, board games and conversation in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The Cozy Café series begins Jan. 30, 2019 with a theorem-painting workshop. The program will be led by Janet McCobb, a talented local artist and instructor.
Theorem painting is a traditional American art form that involves using stencils to create paintings on fabric or paper. The technique came into fashion in the early 19th century and is enjoying a resurgence today.
All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public. For more information, call 315-655-9322 or visit cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.
