Syracuse man arrested following a fraud investigation

State police arrested Trey B. Thomas, 25, from Syracuse, for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class D felony.

On Dec. 13, 2018, Thomas deposited a check through a mobile banking service to a credit union account for $3,722.11. The deposit was later determined to be a fraudulent check.

On Jan. 17, 2019, Thomas was arraigned in the town of Adams Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Adams Town Court at 6 p.m. Jan. 23, 2019.

Croghan man arrested on rape charges

Ryan L. Hoch

State police in Lowville arrested 21-year-old Ryan L. Hoch of Croghan for first-degree rape, a class B felony, and first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony.

Hoch is accused of having forcible sexual intercourse and sexual contact with a 17-year-old female without her consent Jan. 13, 2019, at a residence in the town of Martinsburg.

he was arraigned and remanded to the Lewis County Public Safety Building on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bail bond.
