The public is invited to attend a free Poetry Reading at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2020, at REACH Center, 205 W. Dominick St., Rome, hosted by 4 Elements Studio. This event features Rome native, Orin Domenico, reading from his 2019 collection, My Rap Sheet is Long. Domenico will read from his collection for about 45 minutes, after which there will be time for questions, discussion and a book-signing.
For this homecoming reading, Domenico, who has lived in Utica for the past 30 years, will focus on the many Rome poems in his book. Domenico’s work, which is direct, lively, accessible and meant to be heard, will not leave you scratching your head asking what was that about? Renowned beat poet and Fugs founder, Ed Sanders reviewed Rap Sheet as, “a fine, readable collection,” and advised that you “get it, and take the time to read and study it.”
