Police investigate suspicious activity near Prospect and Oneida streets intersection
On Feb. 24, 2020, the Utica Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle and person in the area of Oneida Street at Prospect Street.
It was reported that at about 8:15 a.m., a juvenile was waiting for his bus when a white male pulled up in a white van and asked for the juvenile to come to him. When the juvenile declined, the white male exited the van and approached. The juvenile ran away and hid until the man left the area.
This incident is under investigation by the Utica Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. There have been no similar incidents of this nature reported to police at this time. Also, no witnesses to this incident have been located.
