State police continue to investigate 1976 homicide of an unknown male
On June 12, 1976, the badly decomposed body of a white male was located in the Oswego River near Three Rivers Motel in the town of Lysander. State police continue to investigate this homicide and as of this date, the body of this white male has still not been identified.
At the time of the discovery, the unknown white male was wearing a blue knit turtleneck long-sleeved sweater, blue jean-type trousers with button-down flap pockets, yellow bikini undershorts with red trim, Florsheim (size 9.5D) brown calf-length leather boots with side zippers, brown leather belt and a gold chain bearing an Italian pepper and Italian Cornuto hex sign ornaments/pendants/charms.
This male is described as white, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 129 pounds. The body was located by two fishermen approximately 400 yards north of the Three Rivers Motel.
The unidentified male is believed to be between the ages of 25 to 35, of European descent and there is evidence of his having had extensive dental work.
Hundreds of leads have been exhausted, but the case has remained open.
The victim’s identity and his homicide have never been solved.
