(Jan. 2013) Alyssa Crane (center), a junior at Chittenango High School, won three silver medals in Albany at the AAU Holiday Festival Karate Tournament. A first degree black belt, Alyssa placed second in three events – sparring, kata and weapons kata in the Advanced Black Belt 15-18 year old division.
Devlin Cameron (left), a sixth grader at Chittenango Middle School, won a gold medal for first place in kata and silver medal in sparring, taking second, in the Novice Green Belt 11-12 year old division.
Macsen Cameron (right), a second grader at Lake Street Elementary School, in his first competition, placed first earning a gold medal in sparring. He competed in the Beginner White Belt 6-7 year old division.
All three are coached by Sensei Marvin Labbate, director and head coach at CNY Karate and Kobudo Schools, located at 720 W. Manlius St. in East Syracuse with a satellite location at the United Methodist Church on Falls Blvd, Chittenango.
