(New Woodstock, NY – Feb. 2013) February is the month of love, and the New Woodstock Free Library wants to help you find a new love of books. Through the end of the month, patrons can visit the Blind Date with a Book display and take a chance on something new.

There are books for adults, young adults and tweens. There is a catch, though. The books are wrapped up tight. Check out a book, take it home, unwrap it and give it a chance. Who knows? You might find love with a new book.

“We are very excited to try this new idea and to introduce our patrons to some new books,” said Kelly Roberts, youth services coordinator. “All our staff is picking out books from all areas of interest. There is a risk of getting a book you might not like, but give it a chance. Or come back and get a new blind date book. As long as people are interested, we will keep wrapping up books.”

Several events are coming up at the library, as well. Running through March 8, Africa by Safari, watercolors by Toloa Perry and Sherry Wright are on exhibit. On Saturday, March 3, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the library will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a party. There will be books, activities, birthday cake and lots of fun!

All events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the library at 315.662.3134, visit online at www.midyork.org/newwoodstock, or “like” the New Woodstock Free Library on Facebook.
