(Brookfield, NY – March 2013) Brookfield Supervisor John Salka will hold a town hall meeting Saturday, March 30, at Brookfield Town Hall at 9:30 a.m. Some of the issues that will be discussed will be gas drilling in the town and a possible ban, the proposal for purchase of new highway equipment, the road use law to be considered for the town and any other concerns that residents may have.
“I feel that forums like these, which are obviously less formal than an actual town board meeting, are an opportunity for folks to contribute comments on how things are going in our town and to make suggestions on how we can do better,” Salka said. “All are encouraged and welcome to attend.”
Also on the calendar is the April 8 town board meeting, which will be held at the North Brookfield firehouse at 7 p.m. The policy of rotating board meetings around the town will remain and allows for town government to go to the people instead of the other way around, Salka said.
“We have had good turnouts at all of our board meetings and, due to the fact that Brookfield is such a large town and so spread out, we hope to be able to reach out to all the citizens of our town,” Salka said.
