(Canastota, NY – May 2013) This is the first in a series of photos recognizing community organizations that contributed to the matching funds grant awarded by the Erie Canalway National Heritage Fund Grant to Canal Town and the Village of Canastota.

The grant made it possible to hire muralist Cory Goss to design two murals along Canal Street showing the economic impact that the canal had on Canastota in the latter part of the 19th Century.  The Oneida Savings Bank helped with a donation and permission to place one of the murals on the Farr Building, which they own.

An Aug. 11 dedication is planned.
