(Oneida, NY- June 20, 2013) At 3:15 p.m. June 19 on Genesee Street just east of Sayles Street, police responded to a car-bus accident.
A 94 Buick 4 door sedan operated by Bobbi Marsh, 49, of Clark Mills Road, Whitesboro was traveling east on Genesee Street and came upon vehicles that were headed east that were turning south onto Fultz Drive. As she attempted to brake she crossed over into the west bound lane spinning into the lane and into a bus traveling west bound.
The bus was a Madison-Cortland NYSARC bus operated by Elbert Loucks, 62, of Whitelaw Road, Canastota. He attempted to steer to the right but was struck by the vehicle and both vehicles went off the south side of the roadway.
Marsh was transported to a hospital in Syracuse for arm and leg injuries. The driver of the bus and 14 passengers were transported to Oneida Healthcare Center to be checked for minor injuries. An aid on the bus was transported to a Utica hospital for a leg injury.
Marsh was cited for failing to keep right and failure to reduce speed.
