Morrisville Public Library News
By Michelle A. Rounds, Library Manager
(Morrisville, NY – July 2013) Our summer reading program, “Dig Into Reading” is in full swing. It’s not too late to sign up if you haven’t already. It runs until Friday Aug. 16.
We are also having an adult summer reading program again this year too. So anyone from ages 1 on can have fun with us this summer. Hope to see you.
This Friday July 26 at 6:30pm, join us for “I Dig Getting Dirty.” Do you like getting dirty? How about playing in the dirt and mud? Come to this program and play with mud, dirt and more. Be sure to dress in old clothes because we are going to get messy. Parents, we will end the night playing with bubbles too so hopefully we can just be hosed down later.
Join Moreland the Magician as he helps us celebrate “Dig Into Reading” on Wednesday July 31 at 6:30pm. ‘Klondike Dave’ is a gold prospector from the Old West who’s sure there’s some sort of treasure buried at our library, and he’s determined to dig it up. Want to help him find it? Join him for a show packed with magic, comedy, mystery, puppetry, and more.
Remember the TV show, Fear Factor? Well we are going to have our own version of it with BUGS. That’s right; on Friday Aug. 2 at 6:30pm, we will have 3 rounds of fun. A question and answer round about bugs, an obstacle course and of course, the best round-eating bugs. Be sure to join us for a ”buggy” good time.
Join us for a two part tie dying event on Monday Aug. 5 and Wednesday Aug. 7 at 6:30pm. Join Jody Luce as she helps us to create our own tie dye creation. Please bring in a 100 percent pre-washed cotton item (i.e.-white handkerchief, t-shirt or other white cotton item.) This is a two part event so BE sure you can come to both nights to complete your project. Dress to get messy as well.
Juggling Josh, also known as Joshua Edelman, has been delighting audiences with his unique blend of breathtaking skills and side splitting comedy for over a decade. He will be here on Friday Aug. 9 at 6:30pm. His show features the fusion of spellbinding feats, tons of interactive audience participation, and side-splitting comedy. He might even juggle your child. Bring the family in for a sure to be good time.
We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm for the summer.
