state-police-seal-150x150 (Town of Lenox, NY – Oct. 24, 2013) Sullivan based state police charged Albert H. Snyder, 52, of Liberty Street, Camden with Aggravated DWI after he was involved in a hit and run accident on State Route 13 in the Town of Lenox on Oct. 22.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. Tuesday Trooper Christopher Taylor responded to a report of a red Chevrolet pickup truck leaving the scene of an accident where it had driven off the west side of Route 13 and struck a utility pole and cable, damaging the pole and downing power lines.

Witnesses stated the truck was last seen northbound on Route 13 heading towards Sylvan Beach.

The pickup truck was observed travelling northbound on Route 13 in Camden a short time later and stopped by Sylvan Beach Trooper Shane Peters.  The driver, Snyder, was found to be intoxicated and the truck had extensive damage to the front end from colliding with the utility pole.

Snyder was arrested for Driving while Intoxicated and transported to the SP Sylvan Beach barracks for processing.

A breath test determined Snyder’s blood alcohol content to be .20 percent. A DMV check revealed a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years.

Snyder was arraigned in the Town of Lenox Court before Town Justice Grace Rapasadi on the charges of Felony DWI, Felony Aggravated DWI (BAC of .18% or greater) and leaving the scene of a property damage accident and remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash / $20,000 bond.
