Boy Scouts(Oct. 2013) The first two weekends in November local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will be collecting food items for local food banks and pantries in Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, Otsego, Lewis and Herkimer Counties.

Look for Price Chopper bags that will be distributed in your area on Saturday, Nov. 2. The food items will be collected one week later on Saturday, Nov. 9.

All food collected will be brought to local churches, food pantries and food banks. Types of food include: canned items, baby food and other non-perishables. Please no fruits/vegetables, frozen food, or food in glass containers.

Scouting for Food is an annual event. Last year area Scouts collected over 70,000 pounds of food. The Council is asking for your support of this important initiative. This program embodies one the highest ideals of Scouting-service to the community-by meeting the local needs of the hungry. This year the program is being made possible with the help of Price Chopper and New York Sash.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to call the Scout Service Center at 315-735-4437 Monday through Friday between 9:00AM and 5:00PM.
