(Madison County) Unofficial results in Tuesday’s election have longtime Lenox Supervisor Rocco J. “Rocky” DiVeronica down about 230 votes before absentee ballots are received and counted. Sources say there are about half that many absentee ballots out.

Newcomer Democrat Ann Jones lags behind Republican Denise Roe with an approximate 5-percent margin in the race for the office of County Clerk.

Town of Fenner will get a new supervisor this coming year with the retirement of veteran Supervisor Russell Cary. Councilman David Jones (R) leads challenger Carl Snow by nine votes in unofficial returns.

In Brookfield, incumbent Republican John Salka returns to the office of town supervisor after again successfully defending the seat from challenger Joshua Haar.

Unofficial results in Eaton have Republican Cliff Moses defeating Democrat Ray Lewandowski for Eaton Town Supervisor; the seat is being vacated by retiring Republican Supervisor Priscilla Suits.

Georgetown will be led by Paul “Pete” Walrod (D), who pulled out a win against Bart Chapin (R) for the seat of supervisor after the retirement of Supervisor David L. Coye.

Incumbent Republican Ron Bono returns to the office of Madison Town Supervisor by a comfortable margin; Councilmen Bob Hathaway and Bob Jones also return to their seats on the DeRuyter Town Council.

Mayor A. Max Smith appears to have successfully defended his seat in the city of Oneida. Also in Oneida, sitting Democratic supervisors James V. Rafte, Sr., and Lewis Carinci return to their seats representing Wards 4, 5 and 6 at the county.

All results as of press time are unofficial; absentee ballots will be counted Nov. 12.
