Hamilton Public Library news
By Hilary Virgil, library director
(Hamilton, NY – Feb. 2014) The Hamilton Public Library is now offering a separate age-appropriate eReading Room for children. Kids can browse, sample, place holds and borrow eBooks and other media appropriate for their age range and reading level.
They may spend as much time as they want clicking away and exploring without the possibility of them stumbling upon mature content. You can check out this new feature today by visiting the “eBooks for Kids” link located under the “Library Resources” tab on our website.
Wondering what new materials are being added into our print collections? Whether you’re look for fiction or nonfiction, books or audiobooks, CDs or DVDs, materials for children or adults, our wonderful Wowbrary service will help you stay informed.
Wowbrary displays a slideshow on our website featuring the newest materials added into our collection and automatically updates each week. The service simultaneously posts updates on our Facebook page and sends email notification directly to our Wowbrary subscribers. From each of these notices, simply click on the image of the resource you are interested in, and – voila! – it will link you directly to our online catalog.
To sign up for these free email updates, click the “Get New Book Alerts” tab on our website, and follow the directions. Interested subscribers can contact staff member Matt Davis (mdavis@midyork.org) and request that he add them to this subscription and our library listserv, too.
