(Oneida, NY – March 2014) Lorrie Schumacher, a master falconer from Earlville, will bring several live raptors, or birds of prey, to Oneida Public Library for a show and tell geared for children on Tuesday, March 4, at 4 p.m.

Schumacher has taken on the mission of educating the public about the important role that raptors play in the environment for ecological balance. Her show, “Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience,” has traveled to area schools, conservation centers, falconry clubs, churches, sportsmen shows and even animal therapy sessions.

Among her collection of raptors, Schumacher has barred and eagle owls, falcons, hawks and an African raven.
