(Hamilton, NY – March 2014) The Community Art Show will be on exhibit again later this month. We encourage community members to select one of their favorite pieces to showcase.

Participants also are invited to submit a one-page description of their artwork or a brief biography for inclusion in our exhibition catalog. All artwork and artist information should be brought to the library during our regular hours between Monday, March 10 and Saturday, March 15.

Entry forms will be available at the circulation desk that week and should accompany all artwork. The Community Art Exhibit will be displayed from the end of March through April 25.

Do you like to explore strange new worlds and civilizations? Do you occasionally time travel? Are some of your best friends members of extraterrestrial species? We hope you’ll join us from 6:30-7:30pm on Wednesday, March 19 for an informal science fiction interest and discussion group.

From the Campbell Golden Age Authors to the present, including everything from Space Opera and Hard Sci-Fi, to young adult titles, and everything in between – bring a favorite book to chat about, share your knowledge of science fiction authors and themes, or just come to listen, find out more about the genre, and meet new friends! Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.

On Thursday, March 27, Matthew Davis will be hosting a basic image editing workshop. This hands-on class will cover how to download photos from common cameras and smartphones to a Windows PC, and how to use common image editing programs to crop your photos and do basic manipulations and color corrections.

If you have a laptop, please bring it. There will be a limited number of laptops available to use if you do not have one. Please make sure to sign up in advance by stopping by the library or calling the circulation desk. This class will be capped at 12 participants.
